La cour des nobles
Built in 1523, La Cour des Nobles was first owned by a knight called Truchsess who owned the residence from 1550 until 1628. Ownership changed hands when a bailiff called Guillaume de Berckheim took possesion. His family remained the owners until 1827. The public entrance takes visitors through a large fully arched doorway and a 1523 turret with winding staircase. There is also a magnificient sun-dial on which is inscribed “Carpe Diem”
Dennis Wendling is an architect who is passionate about renovation. His love of old stones inspired him to renovate this 16th century building made up of the master’s house and outbuildings. The original design and era was respected during its restoration in order to provide high standard accomodation for guests.
Although the residence is situated in the town centre, and only a stones throw away from the animated streets of Riquewihr, its location remains discreet and peaceful.
Upon your arrival at La Cour des Nobles, you will be warmly welcomed by Martine Wendling who is always more than happy to share her love for her home and Riquewihr with guests.
For those arriving by car, a private car park is available.
